The DoSeum is San Antonio's only museum just for children where kids learn by doing, creating and tinkering, instead of just looking and listening.

The DoSeum – The Nation’s New, Must-Experience Children’s Museum
San Antonio will welcome its newest family educational destination when its world-class museum for kids, The DoSeum, opens on June 6, 2015. With interactive exhibits designed to help children become creative problem solvers, The DoSeum will be regarded as a leading learning facility for children in the United States.
A NEW DESTINATION FOR FAMILIES IN SAN ANTONIO
Named a top 20 kid-friendly destination by USA Today, San Antonio is a favorite destination for family travel. Now, add The DoSeum to the list of the Alamo City’s top attractions for families. Opening June 6, 2015, The DoSeum is a place where children learn by doing. Its innovative exhibits and experiences are fun for the whole family and will get children excited about concepts in science, math, art and literacy.
EXHIBITS TO WORKOUT THE MIND AND BODY
The DoSeum offers exhibits that encourage children to work out their minds and bodies, including an interactive robot named Baxter, a spy academy filled with math challenges, an interactive puppet parade, a musical staircase, an ADA-accessible treehouse, and an expansive outdoor exhibit area.
NOT YOUR TYPICAL TREE HOUSE
Considered to be one of the most significant free-standing outdoor treehouses in the country, The DoSeum Treehouse will be 26-feet high. A native of South Africa who now resides in San Antonio, artist Attie Jonker has previously designed treehouses featured on HGTV.
RELIVE “BIG” IN SAN ANTONIO
Are you writing a story about “BIG” fun? Look no further than The DoSeum. Our musical staircase delights children of all ages. Designed by Remo Saraceni, the artist and inventor of The Walking Piano at F.A.O. Schwartz featured in the Tom Hanks’ film “Big,” our musical staircase is designed to get kids moving. Each step on the staircases features a corresponding musical note and light, producing a constantly evolving musical score as visitors ascend and descend the staircase together.
A MUSEUM SET IN A PARK
From solar energy and water recycling to habitat restoration, The DoSeum was designed and constructed with a thoughtful, sustainable approach and offers a number of features to make it both kid and environmentally friendly. The DoSeum partnered with San Antonio-based Lake|Flato Architects to fulfill its vision of a vibrant space that showcases smart, sustainable features. The DoSeum is slated to receive LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Gold certification from the U.S. Green Building Council and is among the most sustainable museums in Texas.
The majority of the exhibits at The DoSeum boast a science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) focus, integrated with literacy and creative arts concepts, for a 21st century learning experience. As educators continue to increase focus on STEM to better prepare students for a technology-driven world, the DoSeum will serve as a resource to get children excited about these subjects and their real world application. The DoSeum will offer extensive programming for educators.
ALTERNATIVE PRESCHOOL OPTIONS
Little Doers, our 9-month preschool program beginning in Fall 2015 will offer a play-based and rich learning environment specific to participants’ ages and development. It is a place where “Preschool Play” is supported by experienced educators and enriched by The DoSeum’s interactive exhibit space. This stimulating preschool curriculum will be unique within San Antonio and will be only one of a handful of preschool programs offered at children’s museums throughout the nation.
