Becoming a Member

Can I apply my admission fees toward the purchase of a membership? Toggle Question

Yes; however, the number of admissions that can be applied depends on the level of membership.  

Two general admission tickets can be applied to a General Membership and up to eight general admission tickets can be applied for other levels depending on the level purchased.

(Ex. General Level with 6 add-on’s $225 - $96 admission tickets applied = $129 charged to upgrade to a membership).

Your sales receipt is required and must be applied the day of your visit.

This can only be done in person, not online.

Can I request a refund or transfer of my membership? Toggle Question

Membership purchases are non-refundable and non-transferable. 

What is the meaning of “named adults?” Toggle Question

At the time of joining, all adults included on the membership must be named.  Only those listed on the membership will be allowed free entry.

Can my adult child be named on the Grandparent Membership? Toggle Question

No, this level is designed for grandparents living in the same household, and up to 5 unnamed children.

How long until I receive my membership information? Toggle Question

When purchasing in person at front desk you will receive one membership card at the admission counter.

Membership Benefits and Visits

I have a Family+1, do I need to be present for my unnamed caregiver to visit? Toggle Question

You do not have to be present for the caretaker to visit. Just have them bring your membership card. 

What are the other museums I can visit with my membership? Toggle Question

As a Member, you can visit other ASTC and ACM accredited institutions. The ASTC travel Passport program grants free admission to Members when you travel outside of your local area. The visiting museum must be located at least 90 miles from your address and 90 miles from the DoSeum. Please call ahead to verify the number of admission tickets. The ACM Reciprocal Network offers 50% off admission to participating museums. A list of those museums can be found here:

I have a General Membership, am I able to utilize the NEW benefits? Toggle Question

General members can enjoy all the new benefits aside from Reciprocity. If you are a general member wanting to visit other museums, please call us to upgrade your membership.

Can I bring Non-Members as Guests to Member-Only Hours? Toggle Question

Yes! Our Member-Only Hours are a great time for you and any Guests to enjoy limited crowd size while exploring our interactive galleries! 

Non-Member Guests will need to purchase General Admission tickets for their visit.  

Membership Renewals

Can I Renew My Membership Before the Expiration Date? Toggle Question

Yes! Memberships that are renewed before their expiration date will extend the original membership expiration date by 1-year.

The DoSeum now offers more for its members, with brand new membership packages and members-only benefits. Members can now tailor fit their membership to the needs of their family -- whether your family includes grandparents, aunts and uncles, single moms and dads, The DoSeum has a membership to fit your family. 

There are 3 easy ways to renew:

  1. Renew over the phone by calling our membership department at 210-572-0626
  2. Renew onsite at The DoSeum's membership kiosk.
  3. Renew using the link the DoSeum emails out a month before your membership expires. 
Digital Membership Cards

How do I add my membership card to my phone (iOS and Android)? Toggle Question

iPhone users access the email from your smartphone and click the "Download" button, then click "Add to Wallet" and "Add." The card will automatically go to your iPhone’s Apple Wallet. It can be accessed in the Wallet app at any time.

Android users need to download Wallet Passes from Google Play. After you have the app, access the email from your smartphone and click “Download” in the membership email, and the card will automatically go to your Wallet Passes app, where it can be accessed at any time.

My family member is on this membership account also, how can she/he receive a digital membership card? Toggle Question

Navigate to the back of the card (click the small "i" on the front) and use the “Share Pass” button to send the card to your secondary member.

I downloaded my digital membership card but I can’t find it in the Wallet app? Toggle Question

If you have an iPhone, the card will automatically download to Apple Wallet. Check the app for your new card (scroll through any cards that are already there--it may be hiding!). If you have an Android, you’ll need to download Wallet Passes from the Play Store prior to downloading the card.

Can I request a physical Membership card? Toggle Question

Physical Membership cards are still available. During your next visit ask our front desk to print a Membership card for you.
