Meet Little Doers Director - ms. cheryl!

Hi DOERS! My name is Cheryl Viera, but most kids and their families know me as Ms. Cheryl. The DoSeum has been the place where I come to work and play since our Grand Opening in June 2015.

I am a San Antonio native but also consider the Rio Grande Valley home. After graduating from Sam Houston State University in 1993, my husband and I settled and raised our family in McAllen, Texas where I spent 20 years in education.

Five of those years I served in various ministries in our church which included Children's Ministry Volunteer Coordinator, Mother's Day Out Coordinator, and Preschool Director. The other fifteen years I taught Kindergarten, 2nd and 3rd grade in Sharyland ISD in Mission, Texas.

Being an educator, whether formal or informal, is for me, not only a rewarding career, it is a way of life. My belief is that development can best occur when children are actively engaged in hands-on, fun, relevant experiences, and when we, as educators, are in partnership with the first teachers of children, the family.

Ms. Cheryl is a graduate of South San Antonio H.S.. She earned her B.S. From Sam Houston State University and M.Ed.ECE from Stephen F. Austin State University.

Testimonials from Parents

“I have been most grateful for the active, child-centered experience the educators at Little Doers have provided for my preschooler. Knowing the importance of play-based, experiential learning, I could not have asked for a more perfect enriching learning experience for my active and curious son. We look forward to camps and visits for years to come.” — Natalie Smith

“We have loved the experience our daughter has had with Little Doers – from the play-based curriculum, to the wonderful and loving teachers, and all the new friends she has made in her class. Each week, she looks forward to getting to school. We love to hear about all the exciting opportunities and experiences she is having each week while she’s there. We are so thankful to have become part of the Little Doers family.” — Amanda Keel
