Show your child the true magic of reading with The DoSeum's Author Series. Over the course of the year, we will feature four children's authors whose literature excites, inspires, and educates. Our May 22nd event will feature Jessie Oliveros, author of The Remember Balloons. Join us on Instagram Stories for a LIVE Storytime with Jessie followed by a fun activity led by one of our educators.
This immersive experience might even inspire you and your family to write your own stories! Are you or your child budding authors? Come find out with us!
The Remember Balloons by Jessie Oliveros: James has so many balloons! Each of them carries a special memory. Grandpa has a million balloons because he’s lived so long. James loves to hear about the stories in Grandpa’s balloons. But Grandpa has been having trouble holding onto his balloons lately. They start to float away, and James can’t catch them even though he tries. James discovers that he is now the one to share Grandpa’s stories.
About the Author: Jessie grew up watching Kansas sunsets, and she'll always have wild sunflowers and gold-tipped corn fields in her heart. She spent her college-life climbing mountains in Utah and striving for higher vistas. After a fulfilling career as a registered nurse, Jessie hung up her stethoscope to grow children and stories. She loves root beer floats, autumn, and running in the rain. These days you can find her in the Texas hill country with her husband, their four kids, and a dog named Della.
