Calling all techie trailblazers! Are you ready to go on a techie scavenger hunt for STEM inventions from the past, engage with the latest and greatest findings of local leaders, and create your own robot in a guided makeshop? Join The DoSeum on August 12th for Future Now! Tech Fair!
Parents will also have the opportunity to learn about the importance of integration of tech and education in our Tech Education Pathways talk with David Heard, Co-Founder and CEO of Tech Bloc.
Plus, coders who have completed the Kids Coding Challenge will have the opportunity to showcase their work, dine on delicious pizza, and enjoy exclusive hour of digiPlaySpace in the Kids Coding Challenge Celebration! Thank you to our partner, USAA, for making Future Now! possible.
Future Now! Tech Fair is free with DoSeum admission. You may purchase a DoSeum ticket ahead of time or purchase ticket at the door on August 12th. The Tech Education Pathways talk (parents-only) needs to be registered for separately. Children whose parents are attending the Tech Education Pathways Talk will engage in a guided makeshop with DoSeum staff.
Time Travel Scavenger Hunt: Engage in a self-guided scavenger hunt throughout The DoSeum to find the hidden tech artifacts of scientists past. Along the way, you’ll get to interact with Kids Coding Challenge activities that will help you in your journey to completing the scavenger hunt and mastering coding! Thank you to Pennington Technical Arts and San Antonio Museum of Science and Technology for the contributions that make this activity possible.
Local Leader Tech Demos:
Tech Education Pathways Talk: David Heard, co-founder and CEO of Tech Bloc, and a panel of industry leaders will provide caregivers with information on the best ways to prepare children for a tech education path. Tech industry leader and artist, Tim Jenison, will speak about the importance of creativity and tinkering for kids to engage in tech innovation. UTSA Living researcher, Melissa Siller, will provide information about the best practices for parents to use tech for education.
This will be open to parents only. Kids whose parents participate will engage in a guided makeshop activity.
