DIY I Am Proud

I am amazing! I am proud! I am ME! What makes you proud to be you? Is it a favorite hobby, your family, or a unique part of your personality? Join us for I Am Proud, a DIY activity, where children can use art and poetry to discover that their identity is made of many parts!  Create alongside your child as they explore and express what makes them proud to be themselves!

What You’ll Need:
  • A drawing surface (paper, cardboard, poster board, etc.)
  • Materials to draw or paint with (pens, pencils, crayons, markers, colored pencils, paint, etc.)
  • Optional: other decorations for your sign (stamps, stickers, magazine clippings, pictures, glue, etc.)
Tips and Tricks:
  • Some kids may feel comfortable making a big, loud sign, and some may feel more comfortable making a small, personal sign. Both are great! The important thing is that your child is encouraged the agency to express themselves authentically.
  • Celebrate differences and similarities, alike!
  • Welcome your child to try nontraditional materials - are they proud of helping in the garden? Try gluing a leaf on their poster!
